Announcement on the Revised Registration Procedures and Course Information for the Electron Beam Lithography (EBL) Training and Certification Program

The Electron Beam Lithography (EBL) Training and Certification Program offered by our Center officially commenced in September this year. To enhance the comprehensiveness of the training, users’ operational capabilities, and the quality of subsequent certification, as well as to streamline the registration, eligibility review, and course scheduling processes, the registration procedures and course arrangements for the EBL Training and Certification Program will be revised starting in October. Users who wish to participate in the EBL Training and Certification Program are advised to carefully review the following course information and regulations before registration.

I. Registration Eligibility and Qualification Review

Ÿ  When registering for the EBL training course, applicants must upload their “NTU Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) C-Level Radiation Protection Training Certificate” through the registration system for eligibility verification by the Center.

Ÿ  Applications without the required certificate or those that fail the eligibility review will not be accepted.

Ÿ  To ensure proper course scheduling and participant eligibility, the Center does not accept applications submitted before obtaining the required certificate with the certificate provided afterward. Applicants must obtain the relevant certificate before registering for the course.

Ÿ  If there are any questions or discrepancies regarding the certificate, eligibility, or other registration information, the Center may request applicants to provide additional documentation or clarification.

II. Course Structure

The EBL Training and Certification Program consists of four sessions, offered as a “3+1 package”:

Ÿ  Session 1: EBL Training — System introduction, calibration, and sample loading operations

Ÿ  Session 2: EBL Training — Data conversion, exposure setup, and alignment operations

Ÿ  Session 3: Hands-on Equipment Training

Ÿ  Session 4: EBL Certification Test

III. “3+1” Package Registration

1.      To simplify the registration process and ensure that users receive complete training, the EBL Training and Certification Program will adopt a “3+1 package” registration format starting in October.

2.      Applicants only need to select one EBL package course when registering. This constitutes registration for all four sessions: three training sessions plus one certification test. The course fee will also be charged as a single payment covering all four sessions.

3.      The Center will arrange the schedule for each session based on the number of participants and equipment availability. In principle, training sessions will be held every Wednesday at 2:00 PM, while certification tests will begin at 1:30 PM every Wednesday and will be conducted in batches depending on the number of participants and actual circumstances. The final course schedule and certification arrangements are subject to notification from the Center.

IV. Number of Training and Certification Participants

To maintain the quality of hands-on equipment training and ensure that each participant has sufficient time for equipment operation and practice, each training and certification session will generally be limited to 3–5 participants.

V. Training and Certification Requirements

1.      Participants must complete all three training sessions before they are eligible to take the fourth-session certification test.

2.      Participants who have not completed all required training sessions may not take the certification test directly.

3.      If a participant is unable to attend a scheduled training session and therefore cannot complete the required training within the same month, the participant may not take the certification test during that month. The missed session(s) must be made up in the following month or a subsequent training session, and the participant may take the certification test only after completing all required training sessions.

4.      The Center reserves the right to adjust the training or certification content and arrangements based on equipment conditions, course requirements, and the participant’s actual operational performance.

VI. Registration Process

The registration process for the EBL Training and Certification Program is as follows:

Obtain the C-Level Radiation Protection Training Certificate Register for the EBL “3+1 Package” Eligibility Review Complete 3 Training Sessions Take the Certification Test Pass the Certification Test Obtain Independent Equipment Operation Qualification in accordance with the relevant regulations

VII. Additional Notes

1.      The EBL system is a high-end precision instrument. Participants must strictly comply with all equipment operation, safety, and laboratory management regulations throughout the training period.

2.      Both the training sessions and certification test must be attended according to the schedule arranged by the Center. Applicants should ensure that they are able to accommodate the complete course schedule before registering.

3.      If the course cannot proceed according to the original schedule due to equipment conditions or other circumstances, the Center will notify the affected participants separately.

4.      The Center reserves the right to revise the course content, course schedule, training methods, certification methods, certification criteria, and related regulations. The latest announcements issued by the Center shall prevail.

Users who wish to participate in the EBL Training and Certification Program are kindly requested to carefully review the above information before registration and complete the required eligibility documentation and registration procedures in accordance with the applicable requirements. Thank you for your cooperation.
